Mohamed Salah Extends Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the group of players following the controversy from his public comments.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a vital match following criticising the club and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has chosen not to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
The player stated that the team's response stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” he continued.
The midfielder also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I get that there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the games following the initial controversy. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and starting to win games.”
