Outrage as Popular South African DJ Gunned Down in the Heart of Johannesburg.
A prominent South African radio and club DJ has been shot dead in the country's largest city Johannesburg, sending shockwaves across a nation battling persistent crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was attacked in the central business district on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the 40-year-old presenter was confronted by three individuals, one of whom shot at him before running away.
The purpose of the incident remains unclear and no arrests have been made, according to authorities.

Law enforcement indicated that Stock was attacked as he was exiting a location in the vicinity of the Carlton Centre.

"It is alleged the man was approached by three unknown suspects after he parked his car, and they began shooting at him before fleeing the scene on foot," authorities said.

The DJ tried to run away after he was wounded but succumbed to his injuries across the street.
Officials noted that Stock had an unused firearm and no items were stolen during the assault.
